  24. Sierra Software Innovations has just completed negotiations with DataPak
  25. Software for distribution of their Word Solution Engine a high speed TextEdit
  26. replacement.  We are finishing up the implementation of a TTEView replacement
  27. that utilizes that engine.
  28.  
  29. Some of the benefits are:
  30.  
  31. 1) Large text structures - > 32K !
  32. 2) Real Tabs.  The width can be specified
  33. 3) Very fast editting
  34. 4) No license fees beyond initial purchase
  35. 5) Script Manager compatibility
  36.  
  37. The TTEView replacement, tentatively called "SuperTEView", will be bundled with
  38. a complete "Word Solution Engine" package.
  39.  
  40. The "Word Solution Engine" is a 27K object code library that adds TextEdit like
  41. capabilities with major improvements in performance.
  42.  
  43. Current plans call for selling the complete package for $350 to $400.  This
  44. will include:
  45.  
  46. 1) The Word Solution Engine (normally $300)
  47. 2) The SuperTEView unit - MPW Pascal and Think Pascal
  48. 3) Free Technical Support - Phone and EMail
  49. 4) Prompt fixes to any bugs!
  50. 5) Full source code to the SuperTEView unit
  51.  
  52. This product will be available by the MADA meeting at MacWorld Expo in August.
  53.  
  54. This is intended to be the first of a series of quality building blocks based
  55. on DataPak Software engines.  DataPak Software has just announced a further
  56. add-on enhancement that will allow one to have almost all the capabilities of a
  57. full word processor, paragraph level line spacing, adjustable tabs, leaders,
  58. etc.  Our intent is to follow up SuperTEView with an enhancement that uses the
  59. new DataPak add-on.  DataPak Software is selling the add-on for $170.
  60.  
  61. There will also be a disk buffering package available that will enable one to
  62. edit large files without requiring that the entire file be in memory.
  63.  
  64. We are also seeking a few quality beta testers to exhaustively test the
  65. capabilities of the "Word Solution Engine" and the SuperTEView unit.
  66. Developers regularly using multi-byte and right to left scripts are especially
  67. needed.
